Values and Trusting Your Intuition

Understanding your values, your feelings associated with those values and identifying and learning how to trust your intuition.

The Importance of Values

What are Values?

Set of standards, or measures by which we run our lives.  How do they influence our choices, decisions and effectiveness?  Your values guide your decision making process, regardless of whether you are conciously aware of your values or not.  When you know what is important to you, decision making can become much simpler.

The benefit of knowing our values is because achieving goals is only possible if they are in alignment with our values.  Once you know your values check your goals to see if they are in alignment.

By becoming 'conciously' aware of your values you will be equipped to change your behaviour so that it is congruent with your values, with what is really important to you.  Empowering stage of development working with the same principles with regards to establishing your beliefs to make changes to how you feel.

Knowing your values helps you to avoid unnecessary clutter in your life: life becomes simpler.

Knowing your values helps you identify any behaviours you need to change.

THE VALUE OF MISTAKES

Good judgement comes from experience - experience comes from bad judgement.

Mistakes are valuable because if we don't make them, we don't learn and grow.  We all know this intellectually and yet we still feel anxiety about some of our actions.

It goes back to well-intentioned parents or care givers.  Unanimous advice from all to young children was that if they did not make mistakes they were 'good' and so lovable, and if they did the wrong thing and made mistakes they were 'bad' and much less lovable.

Withdrawal of love is probably the most painful emotional experience imposed on a child so it is no surprise that the anxiety 'stuff' comes up around the issue of mistakes.

The more mistakes you make - the wealthier you are.

Human beings are designed to learn only through trial and error.  Example: look at how babies learn to walk.  They have an intuitive desire to walk and fall down many times before they achieve it.  Imagine if they never tried again because they got discouraged at falling down all the time!!!

Identify your own fears of making mistakes so that you can overcome them - get in touch with your feelings and list possible outcomes - humiliation, criticism, loss of self esteem making mistakes helps to keep you relevant for an everchanging business world.

INTUITION

What is it?  Voice of Highest Self
All of us have inside of us all the knowledge and wisdom we need to live a fulfilling life.  The first step to accessing it is to believe what I just said.

How does it work?  Immediate Concious Thoughts
Everyday we ask ourselves many questions about all aspects of our lives as we try to work out what decisions we need to make to achieve the life we desire.  Everytime you ask yourself a question there is an immediate answer that comes just a split second after you have asked the question.  That is your highest self talking to you.

How to get in touch with it - Listen and Avoid Rationalisation
When you get that first 'answer' you have to stop right there.  The problem comes when we say to ourselves 'well that's all very well but maybe I need to check out other possibilities.  This first answer might not be the best for me'.  Stop now.  The worst thing you can do is rationalise your intuition and I can prove that by asking you to think about specific experiences where you rationalised your intuition and things did not turn out right for you.  How many times have we said to ourselves 'I should have listened to my intuition'!!!

Can you trust it?  Absolutely
You won't get to believe this until you put it to the test.  For now, you are just going to have to take my word for it and take that 'leap' of faith.  I can promise you that once you start doing it and the results come in you will gain more confidence in trusting it the next time.  Your intuition will never steer you in the wrong direction.  Your logic is more likely to!!!

To use your intuition to make an impact in your life requires practice, practice and more practice.

Manifestation of Thoughts and Words

How is this relevant to you achieving your goals in life?  There is an ancient saying that I am sure you have all heard that goes 'As ye think, so shall it be'.  Some of the following concepts may cause some discomfort.  However I believe that if you seriously want to achieve the goals for your life, it will involve embracing new concepts and applying them to your own situation.  There is no doubt that this will move you out of your comfort zone.

It is a scientific fact that our 'thoughts' cause our feelings and behavious, not external things like people, situations and events.  The benefit of this fact is that we can change the way we think to 'feel/act' better even if the situation does not change.

Most people believe that an 'activating event' (A) Directly causes the emotional 'consequence' (C).  This theory is wrong.  Your emotions will be related to your preconceptions, your thoughts or beliefs (B).  You control and generate (b)!!!  And that creates (C)!!!

To have healthy thought patterns we need to identify our system of beliefs.  Everyones' will be different.  All emotion comes from 'evaluating thinking' - simple observation will not feel emotion.  Preferences create emotions.

If we are experienceing unwanted feelings and behavious, it is important to identify the 'thinking' that is causing the feelings/behaviours and to learn how to replace this thinking with thoughts that lead to more desireable reactions.

We all have undesireable situations whether we are upset about them or not.  If we are upset about our problems then we have 2 problems, the problem and our 'upset' about it.

Often we upset ourselves about things when in fact, the situation isn't like we think it is.

This is a very difficult concept to grasp and admit to because it means we have chosen to feel the way we do.  Not a comfortable place to be.  It means we have to accept responsibility for how we feel.  Ouch!!!

Examples of thoughts that may trigger unpleasant feelings and/or behaviours:- What were the feelings/behaviours triggered?

Thought
I am worried how my change will look to other people.
Feeling
Fear of disapproval
Thought
I can't change because I might fail
Feeling
Fear of Failure
Thought
I constantly measure myself against my peers
Feeling
Lack of self worth
Thought
I measure success in the terms of money
Feeling
Inadequate

Let's look at the importance of the words we use.  As we all know, the subconcious mind will deliver what we say.  Awareness is the key here.

It is essential to become aware of the words we choose.

Once you have established an awareness of choosing your words you need to practise pulling yourself up every time you find you are using words that are not going to manifest what it is you really want.

You also must believe that the desired outcome is already a reality and say so.

Example:  Belief - I have absolute abundance right here right now.
Statement Made - 'I can't afford that.'  That statement says you are in need which is not possible if you believe you have absolute abundance right here, right now.

Alternative Statement:  'I choose not to buy that right now'.  Make a choice - how does using different words change how you are feeling at that time.
Absolute Abundance - Universal Provision

This may be quite a challenge to accept this concept.

Conclusion

Changing your thought patterns will take time.  It is not an overnight thing.  It is all about awareness and practice, practice and more practice.

What thoughts and words are working for you and what are not.  Identify what is not working for you and make a concious effort to change.

Work out a simple affirmation that you can use to keep you on track.

Some Examples:

I am in charge of how I feel at all times
Impossible means I'm possible
Imperfect means I'm perfect

ARE YOU SICK AND TIRED OF BEING ‘SICK’ AND ‘TIRED’

Is your body screaming for help and running on ‘Empty’?

Do you find that people seem to be sick more often and lacking in energy?

Let’s take a look at one of the possible causes. Our environment, and the changes that have occurred over the last 80 years.

During the 1920’s to 1940’s we had a diet mostly free from chemical additives and our skin care products had fewer chemical ingredients. There was also very little air pollution. As a result, the body’s ability to cope with toxins was good.

During the 1950’s to 1970’s there was an introduction of many more chemicals in food and personal care products. Nutrition was deteriorating due to modern farming techniques and the increased use of pesticides and fertiliser. With the body’s reduced ability to cope with nutritional deficiencies, there is a much more delicate balance of health.

During the 1980’s to 2000 nutrition is extremely poor, very low mineral and nutrient content and our diet is very processed. Most soils are mineral deficient and there was constant exposure to toxins in the home from a very early age. The result is much more ‘Ill Health’ in children and in adults who have to cope with this high stress environment.

So where do we go from here? Is there any hope for the future?

Well the good news is ‘YES’ there is!!!

We all need to become aware of choices we are making with regards to what we put ‘IN’ and ‘ON’ our bodies. Thankfully, there are more and more companies providing chemical free, organic food and personal care products. Support these companies as they are dedicated to maintaining your good health. Support your immune system.

Take time to read the labels on everything you buy and get educated as to what all those numbers on the packets represent. If you can’t pronounce any of the ingredients, leave it on the shelf!!!

The most important things in your life are your Health and Safety. Everything else is just ‘STUFF’!! Take care of your body and it will take care of you. Make informed choices and manifest abundance and vitality in YOUR life!
